Journeys built around real places, real food, real people.
Trepora designs small-group and private trips to six countries we know intimately — with licensed local guides, honest pricing, and itineraries that leave room to get pleasantly lost.
A trip planned like a good itinerary, not a checklist.
Country guides you'll actually read
Every destination page is written from real reporting on its landmarks, food, and culture — not filler copy. Know before you go.
Itineraries with breathing room
We build in slow mornings and free afternoons alongside the must-sees, so the trip feels like travel, not a scavenger hunt.
Transparent, all-in pricing
Every package on Trepora shows exactly what's included and the full price per traveler — reserve online in minutes.
Six countries, chosen for depth over breadth.

What it's like to travel with Trepora
Our guide in Kyoto knew which temple gardens would be empty at 7am. That's the kind of detail you can't get from a guidebook.
The Sahara overnight was the highlight of our year. Trepora's team handled every transfer without a single hitch.
Loved that the itinerary had free afternoons. We found our own favorite trattoria in Trastevere because of it.

France
From the Eiffel Tower at dusk to a boulangerie counter in a village whose name you'll mispronounce for years — France rewards travelers who slow down.
What you'll actually go see
The Eiffel Tower
Built by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 World's Fair and originally intended as a temporary centerpiece, the tower stood as the tallest structure on Earth for 40 years. Today it welcomes over six million visitors annually, and the light show that sparkles for five minutes on the hour is worth timing your evening around.
- Best viewed at golden hour from Trocadéro across the Seine
- Skip-the-line summit access included in our Classic and Grand Tour packages
The Louvre
The world's most visited museum occupies a former royal palace on the Seine, its glass pyramid entrance added in 1989. Beyond the Mona Lisa, the collection spans Egyptian antiquities, Napoleonic apartments, and more Renaissance painting than a single day can honestly cover.
- We book timed-entry tickets in advance so your morning isn't spent in line
- Our guides route you against the crowd flow toward the quieter wings
Also on the itinerary: the Palace of Versailles and its mirrored Hall of Mirrors, the hilltop basilica of Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre, and — for our Loire Valley add-on — the fairy-tale châteaux of Chambord and Chenonceau.
The croissant, and the boulangerie culture around it
The modern croissant's laminated, buttery dough was formalized by French baker Sylvain Claudius Goy in 1915, evolved from the Austrian kipferl. Made properly, it should shatter into distinct flaky layers rather than compress. In France, the croissant is a formally recognized national culinary product and the anchor of a daily breakfast ritual.
- We arrange a hands-on pastry class with a working Parisian boulanger
- Beyond pastry: expect market visits for cheese, charcuterie, and regional wine tastings in Provence

Italy
Two thousand years of empire and art, followed by the best plate of pasta you will eat this year. Rome, Florence, and the Amalfi coast, done properly.
What you'll actually go see
The Colosseum
Completed under the Flavian emperors around 80 AD, this amphitheater once held tens of thousands of spectators for gladiatorial contests. Nearly two millennia of earthquakes and stone-robbing have left it partially ruined, but the arena floor's substructure — the hypogeum where fighters and animals waited — is still visible today.
- We book timed entry with underground hypogeum access, which sells out weeks ahead in summer
- Paired on the same morning with the adjoining Roman Forum and Palatine Hill
Also on the itinerary: Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling and St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, the Duomo and Uffizi Gallery in Florence, and — on our Grand Tour — the cliffside villages of the Amalfi Coast and a boat trip past Capri.
Pizza, pasta, and the regional table
Italian cuisine is deeply regional — the Neapolitan pizza you get in Naples bears little resemblance to a Roman pizza al taglio, and pasta shapes are traditionally paired with specific sauces developed in specific provinces. A proper Italian meal moves through courses: antipasto, primo (usually pasta), secondo (meat or fish), and dolce.
- We arrange a pasta-making lesson with a Roman nonna in her own kitchen
- Wine tastings in Chianti are built into our Classic and Grand Tour packages

Japan
Neon-lit Tokyo crossings, moss gardens in Kyoto that have stood for centuries, and Mount Fuji watching over it all on a clear morning.
What you'll actually go see
Mount Fuji
At 3,776 meters, Japan's tallest peak is an active stratovolcano that last erupted in 1707 and is considered one of the country's three sacred mountains. UNESCO listed it as a World Heritage cultural site in 2013 for its role in art and pilgrimage rather than its geology. Clear views are far from guaranteed — the mountain hides behind cloud most summer afternoons.
- We schedule the Hakone leg with a morning ropeway ride for the best odds of a clear view
- Includes a stay at a traditional ryokan with an onsen hot-spring bath
Also on the itinerary: Tokyo's Shibuya Crossing and Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa, Kyoto's Fushimi Inari shrine with its thousands of vermilion torii gates, and the bamboo grove at Arashiyama.
Sushi, and Japan's precision food culture
Modern nigiri-zushi — hand-pressed rice topped with fish — took its recognizable form in early 19th-century Edo (now Tokyo) as a fast food sold from street stalls, a far cry from its current reputation for formality. The best sushi counters still prize the rice as much as the fish, seasoned with vinegar and served at body temperature.
- We book an early-morning visit to a Tokyo fish market followed by a sushi breakfast
- A kaiseki multi-course dinner is included on our Classic and Grand Tour packages

Prices are per traveler, land-only (flights not included), based on double occupancy.

Morocco
Blue-washed mountain alleys, souks thick with the smell of saffron and leather, and a night of Sahara stars unlike anything a city sky can offer.
What you'll actually go see
Chefchaouen, the Blue City
Founded in 1471 as a small fortress, Chefchaouen's buildings began to be painted in shades of blue in the 1930s, reportedly by Jewish refugees for whom blue held religious significance. The tradition stuck, and today the entire old medina — walls, stairs, doorframes — is washed in blue, creating some of the most photographed alleyways in North Africa.
- We visit early morning before the medina's day-trip crowds arrive from Fes
- Includes a stop at a local weaving cooperative supporting Rif mountain artisans
Also on the itinerary: the maze-like souks and Jemaa el-Fnaa square in Marrakech, the Ben Youssef Madrasa's tiled courtyards, and — on our Grand Tour — a camel trek and overnight desert camp in the Sahara's Erg Chebbi dunes.
Tagine, and the communal Moroccan table
Named for the conical clay pot it's slow-cooked in, tagine developed as a practical dish for nomadic and rural cooking — the pot's shape traps steam and returns moisture to the food, tenderizing meat over low heat with minimal water. Common versions include chicken with preserved lemon and olives, or lamb with prunes and almonds.
- We arrange a home-cooked tagine lunch with a family in the Marrakech medina
- Mint tea service — poured from height, three times, per tradition — is part of every stop

Prices are per traveler, land-only (flights not included), based on double occupancy.

Greece
Whitewashed villages perched over a caldera, ruins that rewrite what you thought you knew of history, and a taverna table by the water at sunset.
What you'll actually go see
Santorini's caldera villages
Santorini's dramatic cliffs are the rim of a caldera formed by one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history, around 1600 BC — an event some scholars connect to the Atlantis legend. The village of Oia, at the island's northern tip, is famous for its blue-domed churches and a sunset that draws crowds to the castle ruins every evening.
- We stay in Fira or Imerovigli rather than Oia itself, for better value with the same caldera view
- Includes a sunset catamaran sail past the volcanic islet of Nea Kameni
Also on the itinerary: the Acropolis and Parthenon overlooking Athens, the Ancient Agora, and — on our Grand Tour — the Palace of Knossos on Crete, center of the Bronze Age Minoan civilization.
Gyro and souvlaki, Greece's street-food staples
Gyro — meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie and shaved into a pita with tomato, onion, and tzatziki — emerged in Greece in the 1970s as a local adaptation of Middle Eastern rotisserie cooking. Alongside souvlaki (skewered grilled meat), it's the everyday counterpart to the slower, mezze-style tavernas serving grilled fish and horiatiki salad.
- We include a taverna dinner in Athens' Plaka district with live rebetiko music
- Wine tasting at a Santorini vineyard growing the volcanic-soil Assyrtiko grape

Prices are per traveler, land-only (flights not included), based on double occupancy.

Egypt
The last surviving wonder of the ancient world, temples carved deep into the Nile Valley, and a felucca sail at sunset that hasn't changed in a thousand years.
What you'll actually go see
The Great Pyramid of Giza
Built around 2560 BC as a tomb for the pharaoh Khufu, it held the record as the tallest man-made structure on Earth for nearly 3,800 years, only surpassed by Lincoln Cathedral's spire in the 14th century AD. It's the sole survivor of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World, standing alongside the Great Sphinx and two smaller pyramids on the same plateau.
- We visit at opening time, before the plateau's midday heat and tour-bus crowds
- Optional add-on: interior chamber entry to the pyramid itself
Also on the itinerary: the Egyptian Museum's Tutankhamun treasures in Cairo, the temple complex of Karnak in Luxor, and the Valley of the Kings, burial site of Tutankhamun and Ramesses II.
Koshari, Egypt's national dish
A layered mix of rice, lentils, chickpeas, and macaroni, topped with a spiced tomato sauce and crispy fried onions, koshari likely developed in the 19th century from a blend of local and South Asian influences arriving through trade. It's sold everywhere from street carts to sit-down restaurants and remains one of the cheapest, most filling meals in Cairo.
- We stop at a long-running Cairo koshari house rather than a tourist-oriented version
- A felucca sunset sail on the Nile with tea service is included on every package
